The FAA has issued the final rule for the new MOSAIC regulations for adding rotorcraft to the Light Sport Aircraft airworthiness standards. Once the FAA accepts the ASTM standards being proposed for manufactures to meet these new MOSAIC requirements, Cicaré helicopter models will be available as Light Sport Aircraft built and tested at the factory. Cicaré will continue to make kit aircraft available for owner-built as well, but this added certification path will be attractive to those who prefer a production built and tested machine. Pricing will be announced before the FAA accepts the standards, expected within the next 9-12 months.
